Academic Tutoring
JYS provides customized and effective academic tutoring to individuals ages 10 to 24 years old. Our tutors focus on providing one-on-one tutoring support to tutees who struggles in areas such as basic english and math skills. Also JYS offers remedial courses to those who are at risk of academic failure and struggles with learning in a large classroom environment. JYS provide individual and group tutoring to students who need to enrich and boost their academic skills to help them advance to taking college courses.
We provide community-based tutoring and private tutoring in:

- Academic Skills Applications
- Testing Skills and Enrichment
- Foreign Languages
- Standardized Preparation and Testing
(PARCC, ACT, SAT, AP, PSAT)
Mathematics
Subject-focused on building individual student’s ability to confidently manipulate and work with numbers as a result of boosting their math skills and grades in school and work.
English/Language Arts
Subject-focused on student's writing and reading comprehension skills. It is proven that these skills are essential academically, professionally, and in life.
Individualized
Lesson plans are prepared to accommodate individuals with an IEP and/or a 504 Plan. These lessons are personalized, targeted, and consistent.
Evidence-Based Tutoring/Mentoring Methodology
JYS performs a preliminary assessment before and at completion of services:
- Evaluation of academic and social-emotional service needs
- Identify current skills and competencies
- Evaluation performance of student's progress
- Reflection of effective teaching and learning styles
